Charcoal Roof Replacement Before a Separate Gutter Phase
Recurring leaks and an aging roof led this Pittsburgh homeowner to replace the main roofing system. The two-story home also had box-gutter concerns, but the homeowner initially chose to proceed with the roof only.
Project Overview
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15202
Completed: Earlier in 2026
Project duration: 2 working days
Materials and finishes: GAF Timberline HDZ, Charcoal; Deck-Armor; StormGuard
The starting point
The roof showed age-related deterioration. The owner selected Charcoal shingles and upgraded underlayment and leak-barrier materials as part of the replacement plan.
Roof replacement in Pittsburgh
MY Pittsburgh Roofing removed the old roof and installed GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Charcoal. Deck-Armor underlayment, StormGuard leak barrier, starter shingles, ridge ventilation, drip edge, and gutter apron were included.

Chimney, wall, and pipe flashing
The roofing scope also covered chimney and wall flashing, pipe boots, and exhaust vents. This roof phase took two working days. The owner later requested a separate return visit for gutter work; that later phase is not included in the roof’s completion date or duration.
The result
The roof replacement was completed earlier in 2026 and checked at a final project inspection. Improved roof ventilation was reported. The separate gutter phase was completed on September 2, 2026, after the customer chose to add that work.
