Charcoal Roof and Black Gutter Update in Pittsburgh 15212
The owner of this two-story Pittsburgh home wanted to replace an aging roof before potential problems developed. There was no active leak driving the decision; the homeowner was ready to plan the replacement.
Project Overview
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15212
Completed: September 18, 2026
Combined project: 4 working days
Materials and finishes: GAF Timberline HDZ, Charcoal; Deck-Armor underlayment
The starting point
The steep-slope roof sat close to neighboring homes, which made access more constrained. The customer chose Charcoal shingles and black gutters for a coordinated exterior update.
Roof replacement in Pittsburgh

Wall flashing and pipe boots
The roofing scope also included step or wall flashing and pipe boots. New seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts were installed during the combined project. The color choice carried through the roof and gutter finishes without changing the scope into an unrelated remodeling project.
The result
The combined work took four working days and received a final inspection. The homeowner was pleased with the new roof and gutters and reported a more comfortable upstairs afterward.
