Project
Pewter Grey Roofing, Skylights, and Ventilation in Sewickley
This Sewickley homeowner reported poor roof ventilation, water staining on the porch ceiling, aging gutters, and skylights needing attention. The exact age of the roof was uncertain, but its condition supported a coordinated replacement.
Project Overview
- Location: Sewickley, PA 15143
- Completed: August 10, 2026
- Combined project: 4 working days
- Materials and finishes: GAF Timberline HDZ, Pewter Grey; Deck-Armor; DCI Edge Vents; VELUX skylights
The starting point
The home had five existing skylights and a distinctive roof shape, including a rounded dormer. The assessment confirmed insufficient ventilation and gutter sections that were not carrying water away effectively.
Roof and skylight replacement in Sewickley
MY Pittsburgh Roofing installed GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Pewter Grey with Deck-Armor underlayment and ice-and-water protection. The project included ridge ventilation, DCI Edge Vent components, pipe flashing, exhaust-vent work, and skylight replacement work using VELUX products.

The broader project included seamless aluminum gutters, downspouts, and Raindrop gutter guards. Roofing and skylight details remained part of the roof-focused scope, while drainage improvements addressed the separate problem at the porch roof.
The result
The combined project took four working days and received a final inspection. The home had a new roofing system with improved ventilation and gutter drainage. The new Pewter Grey roof also changed the home’s appearance.
