Oyster Grey Roof Replacement for a Pittsburgh Rental Home
An active leak at this Pittsburgh rental property prompted the owner to call MY Pittsburgh Roofing. The two-story home had a steep-slope roof, and the assessment found that the existing roof was no longer a suitable repair candidate.
Project Overview
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15207
Completed: August 4, 2026
Combined project: 2 working days
Materials and finishes: GAF Timberline HDZ, Oyster Grey; underlayment; ice-and-water barrier
The starting point
A replacement was selected to address the condition of the roof rather than continue patching it. With tenants living at the property, stopping the water entry was the central outcome the owner needed.
Roof replacement in Pittsburgh
The crew removed the old roof, completed decking work, and installed GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Oyster Grey. Premium underlayment, an ice-and-water barrier, starter and ridge-cap shingles, ridge ventilation, and roof-edge components were included.

Final cleanup and inspection
The scope also covered step or wall flashing, chimney flashing, pipe boots, and bathroom or kitchen exhaust vents. Fascia or soffit work and white aluminum gutters and downspouts were part of the combined project. Access to the property was from on-street parking.
The result
The combined project took two working days and was checked at a final inspection. The active roof leak was resolved, gutter drainage improved, and the tenants were happy with the result.
